I was referred to Dr. Hardwick-Smith by another medical professional because of her intelligence and incredible bedside manner. As my husband and I are both physicians, I researched her credentials and interviewed her before selecting her as my physician. She is a very gracious woman and physician. I was looking for someone who could combine being extremely clinically competent yet compassionate to my needs. She guided us in trying to get pregnant, knew when to refer us to a specialist, and then followed us every step of the way. I was very impressed with her ability to discern when to observe and when to act. In the delivery room, the cord was wrapping around my son's neck----she calmly yet assertively looked at me and the nurses and said, ""Let's get him out""-----within 3 pushes he arrived with a team of transport nurses standing by. Thankfully her attentiveness and preparedness avoided any complications. She had decided to stay and personally deliver our son which caused a late dinner with her own family. I refer both patients and personal friends to her because of her wisdom, confidence, and caring attitude. Her staff support her in the mission to provide her patients the complete package of top notch medical services. We are forever grateful to her for her role in giving us the beauftiful blessing of a healthy baby boy.
