Review content:
A couple years ago, when I worked in the area, I used to love L'Express. They could always be counted on for a nice atmosphere, a good glass of wine, and reasonable prices. But over the last year, the place has gotten worse and worse. Last week, I walked into the restaurant and hovered around for about five minutes before the hostess appeared. I asked for a table for two -- which shouldn't have been a problem since it was still early and the tables were virtually all empty. Yet she bruskly refused to seat me and directed me to the bar which, unlike the dining area, was full. I wouldn't have thought much of it, but my last few visits there have been more of the same. Go to L'Express if you're looking for disinterested service and mediocre food; otherwise, take your money elsewhere and let this place go the way of the dinosaur.
Pros: Location
Cons: uninspired service, uninviting atmosphere
