I got married over Hurricane Ike weekend and had originally booked a mostly outdoor venue. We had to change locations two days before the wedding and our caterer (Pink Avocado) recommended the Palm Door. My fiance and I were extremely anxious about changing plans at the last minute, but didn't have a choice. Sara dropped everything she was doing to meet with us and show us the venue. \r
The indoor is a wonderful blank canvas -- beautiful hardwoods, lots of light, and clean. Sara arranged for all of our rentals (tables, chairs, stage for the band) and even brought a table from her home to accomodate our guest book area. The venue looked beautiful and Sara took care of absolutely everything, which enabled me to relax and enjoy the night. \r
Pink Avocado and their staff are also amazing! Brenton was the most flexible person to work with of all my wedding vendors. His food is creative, delicious, and reasonably priced. He met with me multiple times to discuss the menu and set-up at our original venue and was able to change at the last minute seamlessly. His bartenders kept the alcohol flowing and did a wonderful job of bussing and breaking down tables for the dance floor. \r
The location is close to everything downtown and we were able to walk to our hotel (the HIlton) once the reception was over. The ONLY drawback is limited free parking and the fact that the creek area is in the process of being cleaned up and revitalized. \r
Overall, we could not have asked anything more of the Palm Door, Sara, Pink Avocado, or Brenton -- it was amazing to work with such professional vendors. All of my guests have raved about both the food and the venue and had a wonderful time. My husband and I truly believe that our wedding reception turned out better than we could have ever imagined at our original venue!
