Review content:
On one particular Sunday afternoon, my husband and I drove around town looking for a Japanese place to go to lunch. I had a huge craving for Japanese food and none of our usual place was open (Sushi Den, Sushi Tazu, Genroku Restaurant, Yoko's in downtown, etc.). It must have been a holiday because I can't remember the last time Tazu and Den were both closed.\r

We sat down at this restaurant and ordered our lunch. I ordered Kazu and hubby ordered Curry. My kazu turned out alright but the curry... ... It was a disaster to say the least. The real Japanese curry is slightly sweet with yellowish brown thick sauce and has carrots, onion, and potato that has been cooking in curry sauce for a long time. All of it is over rice. What they had was Cut-up fishcakes with carrots and peas, the whole thing was then mixed together with MSG and water. (Carrots and peas??????? We went to a restaurant for frozen veggies?) \r

My husband, who lived in Japan for a couple of years and speaks fluent Japanese, was really hungry so he ate most of it. I stared at him with disbelief. I couldn't believe he did NOT hurl.\r
\r
We didn't have the courage to order their Sushi or Sashimi and we were glad that we didn't. So please if you want any sort of resemblance to Japanese food, go a block further. Kokoro has ok food. It might not be the most authentic but they are at least edible.
Pros: None. There are so many far better choices in DU area.
Cons: Not run by Japanese people and haven't the slightest clue what Japanese cooking is.
