Review content:
My wife and I were looking forward to eating at Brick after the many positive reviews, but we were very dissappointed in the food and in particular, the wine list. Very interesting and creative food concepts, such as falafel halibut with hummus, was overcooked and oversalted. The chocolate-salted ribeye was cold. The confit buffalo wings was the only well executed dish.\r
\r
With the exception of the Carignane by Eric Ross, a fabulous but obscure producer, the wine list was hopeless. The sheepish bar staff knew this and told us to avoid the white wines entirely -- ended up with a Roderer Brut Rose to go with the halibut rather than endure the suffering of a limited and poor selection (shocking for a place with a huge and well positioned bar).\r
\r
The staff were terrific, but you could tell they knew what was up. Avoid.\r
Pros: Great space, nice staff
Cons: Food preparation, wine list
