This restaurant is outstanding! A few friends and I visited Dallas for my birthday weekend, and we went to McKinney Ave. to see what we could find for a decent place to dine. Avanti was the place that jumped out the most to us, especially since we could hear that there was live music playing. The decor and the ambiance of the restaurant was perfect: plenty of places to sit, beautiful candlelight, amazing music, etc. We were seated on the patio, which I would recommend to anyone planning on dining there. It was great being able to look out the windows onto the street, and at the same time it was intimate enough for us to still hear the music but also carry on conversations with one another. The food exceeded all of our expectations. The vegetarian spinach lasagna was out of this world, and the wine that was recommended to us was a brilliant complement to the wonderful food. The service was also excellent. Our server was polite, cordial, and very attentive and helpful whenever we had a question. I have raved about this restaurant to every one of my friends and family, and we all plan to return the next time we are in the Dallas area. We can't wait! Pros: The food, service, and ambience were outstanding for the moderate price. Cons: The bathrooms are a bit small.
