pick-up is annoying... Better hope your 5 year old can stand in line in a loud cafeteria and be responsible enough to come when their name is spoken over the speaker system.(they won't go looking for them too hard..just call their name again) If not, you will have to go to the front office to get them----AFTER already waiting in line for 20-30 minutes. This happened to me 3 times before I went in and told the office I was annoyed.. Their response, ""We didn't know where he was."" Also, there is a high ratio teacher to kids... teeter on violating laws because my child's kindergarten class has 23 students even though they insist their on 22 to 23.... Well, which is it? My child doesn't have a rest time except for laying his head on his desk.. He is getting into trouble because he can't have enough patience to wait for 22 other kids, etc. AND, he is TIRED by afternoon, further making a 5 y/o want to do things that BORED kids do. His teacher is actually doing her best, BUT her hands are tied because she has to go by rules of the district. I think our poor teachers need a break to be more able to just BE teachers with ALL the tools they need (mostly excellent teachers in the district)... just question our education system expecting way too much from these kids---I have 5 kids with the oldest in Red Oak high school. So this is not just a meandering rant!!! Pros: great facilities and most teachers seem very qualified- schools system seems on upswing at times. Cons: getting too big and not keeping up with a smaller class ratio. Not very personal
