I had heard about Char Grill ever since moving to Raleigh, but it didn't turn out to be very spectacular upon my first visit. The highly-touted shake was rather mediocre - basically just soft-serve ice cream. The fries were good, but it wasn't really any different from any other hamburger stand. The ordering system is very confusing if you're a first-timer alone - I have several friends who have had to go through the line many times because they didn't realize there were "cards" to fill out, or how to fill them out properly. There are not very clear, posted instructions. The establishment is cash only.
