Review content:
My lunch started out with a comp sour pickle. It was crunchy, not to sour, saltly and good. You could tell it was homemade. Next I had a bowl of the soup of the day which was Mushroom and Barley (see pic). It was a nice balance of mushrooms and barley in a thick broth. I then had the Turkey Melt with Fries (see pic). It was piled high with turkey and served with thick steak fries. I enjoyed it too.\r

The service was good for me, but I could tell that some of the other tables were not happy because their server kept disappearing and their food was taking a long time to come out. My experience was good and here's why, I was waiting for my sandwich to come out and a guy, who I later found out was the owner, came over and asked if I needed anything. I replied no thank you and he went about his business. Maybe about 5 minutes later ( which seems like forever when you are eating alone) I was still waiting for my sandwich and the owner looked over and immediatlely yelled from the cash register, in that New York Deli way, to kitchen and asked where my order was and that he needed it yesterday. The owner winked at me and I nodded and smiled back in approval. Within a minute my food was delivered. Thanks Ray (the owner) he doesn't know me at all, but his attention to detail/service was excellent.\r

This place has extensive menu and it's a typical New York/Jewish Deli. The one word that came to my mind about this place was, character. It's got great character, good food and I love people watching in places like this. Remember to tell them Dan sent you for the free sour pickle:) and Stay Hungry!
