Where to begin? How about some numbers: thousands of dollars spent on bikes previously, low power output, high bills in P/T, many hours of riding in pain and getting nowhere. That was the before picture, before Husam set me straight and showed me that my (relatively new) “Cervelo Soloist” did not fit me. Not only that, it was not even the right bike for me. I had been noticing a lack of improvement even after spending $5,500 on this new bike. I was in pain. My neck, shoulder, hip and knee were a mess. It turns out the top tube on the “Cervelo” is too long for my body. I was stretched out so far I was not able to engage my core and consequently losing power. The list goes on and on. I was astounded at the news but happy that there was an answer to the problem: Husam and the “Fit Lab”. He was able to put me on the fit bike and get a perfect fit for me both for a time trial bike and a road bike. I had gone to see him the week before a half Ironman and they got the new time trial bike ready for me so that I could ride that in the race instead of the “Cervelo”. I rode my new “LOOK 596” for the first time in that half Ironman and took a total of 40 minutes off my previous best time for a half Ironman! 20 minutes off the bike and 20 minutes off the run. As any triathlete knows coming off the bike with legs feeling good is key to a good run. This was the first time I had ever managed to run the whole 13.1 miles, as my legs felt GREAT coming off the bike. Why, because the bike FIT! There was also a big increase in power output with no increase in effort. Husam was able to get me from 160W to 225W just with FIT. I now have a time trial bike for my triathlons and a road bike (a beautiful, COMFORTABLE, FAST, “La Pierre”) for the bulk of my bike training and I could not be happier. I am climbing hills with less effort and no pain. I can ride for hours and not feel pain in my hips and the numbness in my feet has also lessened. I recommend everyone who tells me they are having pain/problems with their bikes to go and see Husam. I made the mistake of dealing with an area bike shop and thinking they knew what they were doing. Their answer to my knee pain was to put shims on my shoes because the fit was “just fine”. Time to train is precious, it takes time away from family and friends, do yourself a favor and do not hesitate to see Husam and the team at “ATA Cycles” BEFORE you buy a bike. It will save you time and money and pain! Pros: Fit service
