Took my Tercel in. It was chugging and missing pretty bad. I paid them about $100 to hook it up to their machine to see what was wrong with it. They gave me a printout with some codes on it and with the comments that valves were sticking; it needed plugs; ekg valve; head gasket; head job and quoted me about $1200. Needless to say I was pretty depressed as I had a lot in the car but couldn t justify this cost. Fortunately, good sense wormed its way into my pea-brain and I took it to a Toyota house here in Denton for a second opinion. Well, a set of spark plugs and wires and a cleaned out ekg valve and about $200 later, she was running as good as new.\r So, you tell me - clear-cut rip-off or extreme incompetence? Either way, I think after reading this, if you re stupid enough to take your car over there, you likely deserve what you get.\r And oh yeah, they haven t heard the last about this yet - I would really like to let someone know who could actually do something about it - BBB? City attorney? Goodyear headquarters? Newspaper? Any ideas? I d appreciate it.
