Review content:
I've been to Fez a few times now, the first right after it opened a little over a year ago. I get my hair cut by Rudy. He is so incredibly nice and takes time to talk to you about what you want before pulling out the scissors right away. He's been doing this for a long time and he's so good at it. My hair used to be long and wavy and he did a good job with that cut. More recently I had him chop off my long hair for a super short cut that looks great now. I felt a little bad because i wanted it shorter than he cut it at first, so I told him I wanted it shorter and he practically gave me a 2nd cut. I was relieved though because he was awesome about it and told me he wanted to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. I love that about him. You can tell him exactly what you want or have him help you figure out what you're looking for. Then I went and saw Anthony for highlights. He really does a great job at making the color not look painted on but peek through the hair as it moves. I initially wanted color that was going to be too much of a contrast with my natural color, so we talked about different options, and he suggested a color that compliments my natural color, as well as my skin tone really well. My color is more stylistic, rather than natural, and it looks great. Anthony expressed to me how much he loves what he does. He has been coloring hair for over 10 years and it's so obvious he's great at it because he enjoys it. I go here because I feel like I can trust my hair to these guys. They are incredibly sweet and welcoming and the rest of the staff is very nice too. This place is unpretentious and fresh. The people who work there are genuinely kind and Rudy and Anthony are excellent. It makes me feel better about giving them my business and I'm going to continue coming to them even after I move from Park Slope to Manhattan.
Pros: ambience, no wait, ample consultation time, nice staff, Rudy, Anthony
Cons: they take cash, check, and credit (but the cc charged me $3.33!)
