Review content:
Gave us a bad initial estimate and nearly charged us double the initial estimate. They are very comfortable lying about the actual time they worked, definitely watch out for that!
They have some sort of transportation fee of about 55$ when they gave us the initial estimate, upon arrival the first thing they did was to double this amount. I knew at that very moment that this was a bad decision.
Asked us for a 15 - 20% tip on top and claimed that the entire hourly rate agreed upon was supposedly going to the moving company. Even though all three of them worked to move stuff from the building we were moving out of, we saw only 2 working at the destination. Took 4 hours to move and charged us for an extra hour. We did have to move out of a walk up but the building we were moving to was an elevator building!!
The best way to waste time is to wrap up stuff that don't need to be. Only in the end when they charged us for an extra hour did we realize that this is a great money squeezing technique.
We had most of our stuff in boxes, but of course they had us buy wardrobe size boxes and charged us 80$ for just those. They claimed that it would take way too long for them to move otherwise. This is yet another way of ripping off people.
There was only one minor damage, so they did do a good job in that respect. For the amount of money that we spent, at least we didn't have to replace many damaged items!!
All in all, be careful with this moving company. They proudly claim that it is a family business to enforce that they have been doing this for a long time, and that they are fair. As far as I am concerned, I will never engage with them again, and will not deal with a family that has so much of experience with this scam!
