Review content:
After listening to my wife drone on and on about a new Peruvian restaurant she discovered in New Rochelle, I ventured out with her to have a taste and see what all the fuss was about. When we got there we were one of two tables seated in the restaurant and the woman who turned out to be our waitress was sitting down at the table next to us eating her food (as if she were a customer).\r
\r
Eventually she came over and gave us a menu and after a few minutes we ordered an appetizer and two entrees. I was surprised that she was the waitress, however, because she was dressed rather inappropriately (with skin tight, see through pants with nothing underneath--but I digress). \r
\r
The appetizer was EXCELLENT!!! When my entree cxame out, it was not what I expected, however and, after one bite I realized I couldn't eat it (allergies) and I sent it back to the kitchen with the waitress. She then asked me if I wanted to keep it and take it home or not. I told her I did noto want the meal and could not eat it.\r
\r
After we finished (I ate part of my wife's entree, which was great) I received a bill with everything on it--including the entree I sent back. When I called the waitresses attention to it, she told me that she could not remove th echarge (even though I sent it back virtually untouched). I then asked to speak to a manager, where I was told ""He is eating right now."" I then stated : ""I will wait."" Twenty minutes go by while I atched the manager pretend he was on the phone before he finally walked over to me. Before I could open my mouth to speak, the manager (who turned out to be the owner) began to verbally assault me and tell me that he is ""very busy running a restaurant and doesn't have time to talk to me)--mind you there are 5 customers at this point in the restaurant. He then starts to yell at me (meanwhile I have not said a word) and tell me that I am th efirst person in 6 years to ever send a dish back or to complain about his food and then, he abruptly walked away--never to nbe seen or hear from again.\r
\r
The waitress then gave me the cold shoulder and a very nice waiter tried to apologize for how I was treated. As an African American male having grown up in the south, this was the first time in decades where I literally felt like the ""N-Word"" as if I were in 1955 Alabama trying to integrate the lunch counter. The hostility and mean spiritedness was truly breathtaking, surprising and unbecoming of a business trying to make a profit while treating their customers with dignity and respect.\r
\r
To say that I was shocked was an understatement. They totally ruined my dining experience and because of the abusive treatment I received I will NEVER be back--and I encourage you, if you are reading this review, to never go there as well. Lets show them that in 21st century America, you can't treat people as if they are less than human and get away with it.\r
\r
Funny thing is... were it not for the fact that I was allergic to the ingredients in my dish, I would have been a committed and loyal customer, as my wife and I dine in the area once a week. \r
\r
Their loss!!! Never again!!!
