Aaron (landlord) and Ahmad (janitor/super) make this vintage building a home. I have lived here less than a year, but recently upgraded apartments. As long as I live in Chicago I will live at 525 W Arlington. Ahmad responds timely to maintenance issues and takes great care of the courtyard, which entail a lot of gardening. This building is nearly a hundred years old so occasional issues are to be expected, but Ahmad responds quickly. The roof deck is my favorite place to read and enoy the sun sets/rises. Sometimes you can see the Navy Pier fireworks and a small view of the lake. The tenants are mostly quiet and keep to themselves. Unlike most apartments, you never hear your neighbor, unless the windows are open. Metropolitan pays the electricity and the gas! Winter is very warm here. Pros: Location, price, vintage, roof deck and amazing courtyard. Cons: Carpet
