I've had my nearly black but graying hair colored twice by Loren, who suggested some subtle highlights, jto give more texture and life. I'm a very low maintenance, no-fuss kind of person who hates spending extra time in the chair, but I was totally convinced when I saw the results: shiny, rich, vivid but subtle, flattering color. I wanted it to be not too reddish brown, and Loren came up with the perfect shade that somehow manages to be both deep and cool. My husband who is a professional photographer and very picky said ""Wow, I love it!"" when he saw me from several feet away. Loren has me on an easy maintenance schedule so that I can alternate with single process, and the vibe at the salon -- friendly, efficient, comfy, no attitude at all -- is exactly what I'm comfortable with. It is slightly more than what I've paid before, but not enought to count -- I think it's great deal for Manhattan, quite honestly.
