Needing a new colorist after a bad dye job, I went through a directory of colorists in NYC. I chose Janet's because she was described in her listing as a very down-to-earth person and someone who really gave alot of time and thought to each customer. \r

I wasn't disapointed! First, Janet asked me alot of questions about my style, hair color history and what color I thought was best for me. I left myself in her professional hands and ended up with a color that was a surprise in a good way. A colorist with an amazing eye and judgement, Janet gave me a very different (for me) color with hightlights which set off my skin tone in an unexpected and pretty way. \r

Janet and her staff are very welcoming and a joy to work with; they all instantly put me at ease- difficult to do whenever I first try out a hair salon!\r

I highly recommend going to Janet Rufin's Parlor- you can't go wrong.
