Review content:
I had booked 3 hotel room for myself and husband and our two daughters and their families. I had prepaid for all 3 rooms for two nights (Saturday & Sunday) 3/31 & 4/1/07 in advance and even called the hotel before we left home (9 1/2 hr drive) to make sure they could put our rooms close to each other. When we arrived on Saturday evening about 6:00 p.m. we were told the Hotel had overbooked and we didn't have a room at this hotel for Saturday night but they would pay for us to stay at another hotel. There was 6 adults and 4 small children in our group and after driving 9 1/2 hrs. we did not want to have to find another hotel but had no choice. We went to the other hotel they sent us to only to find that they did not have any rooms with 2 double beds. WHAT??? Well the hotel mgr of this hotel came down to the desk and arranged for us to all stay on a floor that was to be renovated but the renovation had not yet started so she said the rooms might have a little something wrong with them or smell a little musty but at least we had a room. To make things even worse is we had to pack all our stuff up and then come back to the Royal St. Charles for Sunday night. What a hassle. They also charge and extra resort fee of $9.95 a night and then you have to pay for parking on top of everything else. I was very unhappy with the whole situation and the manager acted like this happened all the time and was no big deal. Well it was a big deal for us and quite an inconvenience. Just wanted to warn other travelors to beware. The only positive thing was it was in a fairly good location.
Pros: Location was good
Cons: High parking rates and also resort fee was extra
