Review content:
My roommate and I went to Village Tavern for the Orlando Magical Dining experience (a pre-set dinner menu for $29 a person during the month of September). We first walked in and were initially surprised at how big the dining room was. The ambience was gorgeous in deep wood colors and modern lighting and decorative accents. The bar and dining room are separate and the kitchen was visible (and pristine) from the dining room, which we liked. Our server was delightful and the food was indescribable. For appetizers, my roommate had the bacon wrapped scallops (which were huge and perfectly cooked) and I had the crab cake (yum). Then I had the 8 oz filet and she had the Grouper Hemmingway. The filet was great quality and the grouper was good, but borderline too salty for me because of the capers. Nonetheless, she was happy with her dish. The filet was very tender and perfectly cooked to my liking. Then for dessert, my roommate had the banana crepes, which were fantastic and uniquely done. They weren't traditional crepes, in that the actual crepe was very thin and wrapped around delicious banana ice cream. I had the cheesecake with chocolate and raspberry sauce, which was the equivalent of 4 servings. It was so creamy and the perfect end to a wonderful, rich meal. Overall, the presentation was excellent, the food was rich and flavorful (but not too filling), the staff was friendly, the ambience was beautiful, and we will be returning very soon! We left as two extremely happy girls! Pros: Amazing food, beautiful dining room, and friendly staff Cons: That we had to leave!
