Review content:
I've been going to Shushi Ran for years... and years... it's the default location of the place, I guess. It's ubiquitousness on ""best of"" lists is one of the strangest things I can think of in the restaurnat scene. The ""restaurant""area is very small and hard to get into, but the two times I've dined at the bar the food was unremarkeable. The overflow ""bar"" area is where I have sat trying out things like the highly-rated black cod and caramelized shrimp (the former very greasy and both so salty I could almost not eat them), the grilled squid (always a bit overcharred and much better witht the sauce that comes witht the nori-wrapped ahi), etc. The wine list has gotten noticibly less interesting in the past year or two, though the service has gotten much better. Pros: Good social scene. Large sake selection Cons: Mediocre food and wine list
