Review content:
I bought a pair of $80.00 Globe stake shoes for my husband for Christmas. The young male owner personally recommended these shoes, said he had skated them and really liked them. My husband wore them for less than 2 weeks when they began to fall apart! Two of the metal rings around the shoestring holes came off, the inside tag on the tounge came unsewed, and the inside sole came unglued allowing the cushion piece to float around above the sole. I told my husband $80.00 new shoes shouldnt be coming apart after only wearing them a few times. I told him to take them back with the reciept for a replacement or refund. He tried but all the dude would say is we can't because they've been worn . Well, duh... that's how we knew they were coming apart! I've never been to a place that wouldn't take something back that was defective after a few days of purchase. The owner guy said he would call Globe and see if they would replace them and call him back. My huband waited 4 days and then called the owner back. They owner said he spoke with Globe and they wouldn't replace them. Well, I don't think he contacted Globe because my husband wrote Globe an email about the shoes and they emailed and called him to say they would replace them but we would have to pay shipping. Anyway, if you buy a board, clothes, safety equiment etc... and they fall apart right when you buy them -- too bad, you're on your own! I will be buying at Section 8 from now on.
Pros: young man running his own skate shop is cool, skates - knows the sport
Cons: won't stand behind every product he sells
