THIS WAS MY FIRST VISIT TO THIS NY LANDMARK. THE ATMOSPHERE IS GREAT AND THE SERVICE IS BEYOND EXCEPTIONAL!
MY ONLY GRIPES WERE THAT THE COFFEE WAS BAD AND THE DRINK PRICES WERE A BIT ON THE ""STEEP"" SIDE. (A MODEST SIZED MARGARITA COSTS $17/SCOTCH ON ICE WAS ABOUT THE SAME)
THIS DIDN'T BOTHER ME HOWEVER IT IRRITATED MY WIFE. I WAS THEIR SOLELY FOR THE EXPERIENCE.
I TOLD HER TO ORDER THE FAMOUS $41 KOBE HAMBURGER BECAUSE SHE DOESN'T LIKE STEAK. IT WAS VERY BLAND AND EXTREMELY LARGE ESPECIALLY FOR ONE PERSON. IT WAS DEFINITELY SOMETHING THAT WOULD NOT APPEAL TO THE AVERAGE PERSON. YOU WOULD HAVE TO BE A ""BEEF CONNOISSEUR"" TO RESPECT IT'S UNUSUAL QUALITY.
THE SHRIMP COCKTAILS WERE ENORMOUS. I LOVED IT. I NEVER HAD A SHRIMP THAT LARGE IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. I ORDERED THE 18 OUNCE NY SIRLOIN. IT WAS PERFECT.
OVERALL WE HAD A FABULOUS TIME. THE WAITER WAS AMIABLE AND VERY COURTEOUS.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND OLD HOMESTEAD TO ALL WHO HAVE A YEARNING FOR A FINE NY DINING EXPERIENCE!
Pros: GREAT MENU OPTIONS, ATMOSPHERE AND SERVICE!
Cons: BAD COFFEE AND DRINK PRICES WERE A BIT STEEP
