Review content:
I first met Dr. Maillard in the ER at Hermann Hospital many, many years ago. My face was swollen to the size of a pumpkin and I was in a great amount of pain. At the time I didn't realize it, but I didn't even know what pain was... compared to the pain I was about to feel! Long story short, Dr. Maillard had to lance something... can't remember exactly what... but it hurt like the very devil. I remember he explained what he was going to do and told me it would hurt (he gets an A+ for being honest!). During most of the ordeal I remember he was patting my shoulder and telling me it would be ""okay"" and that I was ""doing good"" (I wasn't... I was trying with all my strength to get up and walk out). When he was finished he just kept talking softly and telling me it was ""going to be okay"". He was just so kind and empathetic. I have been his patient when needed for all these many years... I've also referred at least a dozen people to him and every one of them feels the same way I do. Dr. Maillard is THE ""Dr. Welby"" of today! Pros: kind demeanor; superb medical skills; up to date; ethical Cons: I didn't see any 'cons'...
