Review content:
You will recognize my header as a parable of Jesus and it is very fitting here.
This is a church that has gone through three senior pastors in this decade (actually since 2005), and turns over its other pastoral staff every two years or so because no-one can stand working there for very long.
My sources tell me that the bishop has a terrible job getting a new SP for the place because the KY conference insiders know that it is a Senior Pastor's nightmare.
The reason for this is that the 'old guard' who run the committees put such pressure - sometimes subtle but pressure nevertheless - on the pastoral staff that they have no desire to stay very long.
There is an clique of 50+ old folks in the church who form the bulk of the committee chairs, and insist on their ways regardless of whether this is the way the Bishop, pastor or staff believe is right and until they get out of the way, the church will remain a social club for Crestwood's wealthy older folk.
Pros: From the Outside, a good looking place
Cons: From the inside, full of decay
