Review content:
I discovered Angelo's several years ago when I used to work in Irving. I now live in Carrollton and will happily make the drive to enjoy their awesome pizza! Upon entering Angelo's, you notice that they haven't updated the interior of the restaurant for quite some time (possibly decades!). It has an old fashioned charm to it, beat up booths and tables etc., but you can see the kitchen and it looks clean, so that's a BIG plus in my book. Their claim to fame is their pasta dishes, which I have never gotten around to trying because the pizza is soooo good! The crust is thin and crispy and they have house made sausage which is delicious. The prices are also very reasonable here; I don't think they have raised their prices in a very long time! The sauce is thick and rich with just the right spicyness to it. I am a pizza afficianado, and I have been known to drive many miles for a good pizza. Angelo's cures my need for a ""pizza fix"" EVERY TIME! The waitresses are very nice and I suspect that most of them have been there since the place opened for business. My only complaint is that the soft drinks are NEVER fizzy! I think they need to update their CO2 tanks or something. This is a pretty large restaurant and they seem to cater alot to families. They have a smoking section as warned by the sign on most Irving restaurants.."" This is a SMOKING facility"", not NON-SMOKING as you are probably used to seeing in the Dallas area restaurants. I always order a larger pizza than I can eat in one sitting so I will have leftovers for later! I highly reccommend Angelo's to anyone that is looking for some old fashioned style thin-crust pizza because they never seen to disappoint!
Pros: Great Pizza and Kitschy atmosphere
Cons: Non - Fizzy soft drinks
