After moving into the Ridglea area 7 years ago, I took my cat to this vet for upper respiratory issues. I dropped her off before work and later that day the vet told me she had pneumonia and was in bad shape. By 5 pm when I called to pick her up, they told me she needed to be euthanized. I asked if I could be present during the procedure (had done this in the past with another pet - never regretted it), was told no, that ""wasn't their policy."" I then asked to come see her to at least say goodbye, was told no again. They told me I could come ""pick up the body"" in about 30 minutes. I was the only person this particular cat liked, and I still feel tremendous guilt (yes, 7 years later) about the fact that she died without me and probably felt abandoned and scared with a bunch of strangers in her final hours. The fact that they do not allow presence during euthanization makes me wonder if they are doing something inhumane, or if perhaps my cat died or was killed in their care, and they needed to cover it up. They take your pet from you at the door and do not allow you past the front desk into the exam rooms, which I find extremely suspicious. What goes on back there that they need to hide? I do not trust any vet that won't allow you to stay with your pet and SEE what is happening.
