Review content:
Ava's used to be a nice place. It had good decor, yummy pastries, patio seating with fire pit and water feature, friendly service and OPEN 24 HOURS. That last one is, I think, still operative and the one good feature. The last time I went the server was RUDE. She was snippy and snotty and was ordering people to bus their tables into those grotesque bins of dirty dishes they have lying about. Disgusting. How does someone serving food to people for a living become so arrogant? Ava's is in need of a remake as the decor has become old and littered. There are crumbs everywhere and rings and chips on the tabletops. You cannot sit down without getting a napkin to clean off the table and chair. The menu has stayed pretty much the same and is hit or miss. Order something today and it is very good. Order the exact same thing a week later and it is horrible. Ava's used to be a hip little coffee shop (as hip as anything ever gets in the god awful suburbs of Portland that is LOL) and now it resembles someone's tired old living room. Will someone else open up another 24 hour something in the god awful suburbs of Portland? I will be a happy paying customer of a nicer place.
