I moved from Melrose to Winchester (a 20 min drive at most) and it took them almost an hour to drive over because they had taken a break to grab lunch and INCLUDED the time in the final cost.
In the morning, they were not on time and called me when they had ""supposedly arrived"" at my house, but when I went outside, the truck didn't arrive for another 15 to 20 minutes, but the timer had been started despite the fact that no one had even arrived yet. When they had finished moving, the time was nearing 6 hours, but instead of stopping the timer then, the movers decided to slowly fold the blankets used as padding for my furniture. They charged me for 7 hours' worth of moving even though everything aside from large pieces of furniture were already neatly packed away in boxes!
Also, despite the fact that I tried to tell them to be gentle with my belongings, they broke one of my desks and yes, they did try to fix the piece of furniture, but AT MY EXPENSE since they factored it into the final amount due.
I have moved 3 times in the past 7 years in and around the greater Boston area and did not gain too many pieces of furniture within that time. In 2004, my move cost $500, and in 2007, it was $600, but now, 2010, it cost me over $1000 to make this move!
The customer service is terrible especially since the manager never seems to be present when I wanted to merely make suggestions. I only chose this company since they seem to be available at all times probably since so few people are innocent enough to settle on this company.
FUTURE CUSTOMERS BEWARE! LOOK ELSEWHERE IF YOU WANT YOUR BELONGINGS INTACT AND YOUR MONEY IN YOUR WALLET!!
