Review content:
I took my tux in for it's second cleaning. I had only worn it three times and it was less than two years old. I picked it up and left it in Dee & Hatties original wrapper, tissue paper, etc.. It hung in my closet for awhile and I had another wedding to attend. I had lost weight so I took it to a very reputable taylor to be altered. After taking it out of the plastic the taylor noticed poor pressing on one side of the front and a small worn spot on the back of the jacket. The taylor said it appeared to be dry cleaner damage from a scrape from a button or zipper or something like that from another garment in the cleaning drum. I took the jacket to Dee & Hatties and was immediately told that it was moth larva damage. I said we have never had moth damage. The man there then looked at it outside and said he had a very good weaver and he would have her look at it. The lady kept saying moth larva damage and that all their garments are secured and this could not happen at their cleaners. A few weeks later the garment came back from the weaver and it was not moth larva damage. The lady at Dee & Hatties basically blew me off, said I must have caused it. I reminded her that she could not watch every garment being cleaned and I had to have my tux jacket and a suit jacket repressed because the presser did not use a board. She wanted to accept no responsibility at all. I called Brooks Brothers to ask how much it would cost to replace the jacket and they advised me I could only replace the entire tux. Cost: $1,600.00. I filed a complaint with the appropriate business services in Dallas who did a good job following up. Dee & Hatties responded by still not showing any responsibility and offering me to split some depreciated value of about $350.00. Frankly I did not want the money but I replied that if they would pay $500 I would consider the matter closed. They basically said take me to court. I would not have taken the $500 either as really all I wanted them to do was accept some responsibility and quite blaming everyone else. Dee & Hatties charges three to four times what a standard cleaner charges and most of their work is the same. On high end items they are know for doing a good job but beware because if something goes wrong they do not like to accept responsibility and will run you around. That is my experience anyway. They will now lose several thousand dollars in cleaning fees over the next few years. Had they shown some responsibility in the beginning, perhaps offered a couple of hundred dollars in cleaning credit and refunded what I paid to have my tux cleaned I would have been more than satisfied and with issued would have not become an issue. Pros: Easy access. Nice looking place Cons: Do not accept responsibility-Believe their own press
