We pulled in to town, looking for a place to park our RV for a couple of months. From the first contact we were treated like family. We are working on a construction job in the area and our direct deposit got screwed up, leaving us short on funds, but the owner agreed to let us pay the weekly rate then applied it to the monthly discount when our money arrived. We ate a delicious meal in their cool little bar and restaurant that floats on the river, called Smittys. The first of many excellent evenings spent relaxing after a hard days work. When we weren't at the bar, we were around a campfire with a great view of the river. Everyone at the campgrounds was very patient and helpful. We are kind of new at the RV living and needed lots of help. I would say that of all the meals my favorite was the fried catfish. It has a light breading with just the right combination of flour and cornmeal. My friend really liked the smoked half chicken plate. The prices were reasonable enough to eat out several times a week. They even asked us if we had a request for a weekly special. Since the job is going to keep us here for a long time, we decided to rent a house so our families could visit. We stayed close though and still eat at Smittys often. Thanks for making us feel at home. Its tough to be on the road away from your family, but the crew at the Marina and Campgrounds made this adjustment a little easier.
