Review content:
One of my favorite spots in Hollywood, hands down. The atmosphere is a mix of a sports bar, college bar, and dance club all wrapped into one. It's a fun spot to hang out with friends on the weekends or throughout the week. It's fashioned after a New York sports bar and yes many of the guys running the joint are from New York. My first night there was on a Tuesday. It wasn't extremely crowded so I had a chance try their famous pizza, which was definitely a solid choice. Wednesday night is Kickball night, where a few kickball teams go after their games and kick it. Thursday is beer pong night where you pay $10 or so to enter and can win a $70 tab at the bar. Friday and Saturday are the craziest of all the nights though. The second floor is open during the weekend, which has beer pong and dancing. Also if you know the management / staff you can reserve a table for your group (be sure to do it in advance though and show up early enough to secure your own table). Getting there earlier that later is always the best choice. The line start about 11 to 11:30pm. If you get there around then and you're stuck line, I warned you. The line isn't terribly long, but doesn't move quickly once the place is packed, so make Happy Ending your first choice! A few highlights about this place: 1.The staff and management are pretty chill. I will say I was called out once for the baggy pants nonsense, but was still let in anyway with no problems. Then again I didn't recognize the bouncer either, so who knows. Otherwise I have no real complaints. In fact if you go during the week (Mon-Fri) ask for George once you're inside and tell him that P-Tyme sent you (no joke, do it). He's the man, hands down. 2. The food and drinks are pretty solid and inexpensive, especially if you are chill with the staff (it isn't hard, just don't be an ass. Also know all of the people working their are friends, so if one likes you, there's a chance they'll all like you). 3. The people are a usually a nice mix of college crown and professionals, which is a pretty difficult mix at other places. The ladies are usually pretty nice and the guys are generally chill. You really won't have to worry about getting your feathers ruffled here. The music is loud and will give you the idea that you stepped into a club after 11pm. Also on the weekend you have the choice of partying downstairs or chillin upstairs. 4. Did I mention this is one of those places where you may run into a celeb just chillin'. It's always cool, but leave them alone. 5. Plenty of street parking and valet parking if you choose to. Also there are plenty late night restaurants in the area, so you can grab food elsewhere if the mood strikes. 6. No Hollywood Bullshit. There is NO COVER. The dress code is lax, but still dress up a bit. It'll make sure you won't get any heat at the door from the bouncers. I recommend a nice shirt (if its collared shirt, then make sure its long sleeve) with jeans/slacks and nice shoes/sneaks (no sandals). Dressy Casual and up if that helps. 7. Lobster crane game. For $2 a game you can play the crane game to get a lobster dinner. If you get a lobster, they cook it for you! All in all, if you are tired of clubbin or just want to find a hot spot to go at night, I highly recommend this place. Pros: Fun atmosphere, Friendly Staff, Excellent Food Cons: Line forms after 10:30, so be sure it's first on your list!
