Review content:
Taste of Texas is below average based on the available steakhouses in Houston. Their strongest suit is the decor and overpriced wine list which carries some very nice labels, but at a premium price. Steaks are not on the level of Capital Grill, Pappas, Morton's, Ruth's, and etc. They rank somewhere between those mentioned and the Texas Land and Cattle, and Saltgrass quality. It is a great place to take foreign visitors for the ambience and ""Texas"" decor; during Christmas holidays they decorate beautifully. Side dishes are not comparible to the ""upper end"" steakhouses in Houston. A great salad bar with cheeses and wonderful breads. If you were to rank it on it's own without comparison to our ""upper end"" steakhouses, it would fair much better.
Pros: Ambience, Texas Decor, Salad Bar
Cons: Overpriced, Outrageous wine prices, Long wait for tables
