My family and I went to the one on Indian Trail and all i can say is that it was the worst dinning experience I have had by far. First of all, do Peruvians even own the restraunt? If it wasnt for the name ""Contigo PERU"" i would have never known. My family is native to Peru and we've been to our share of Peruvian restraurants here and there. Walking in all we heard was Mexican music, mariachi or however u spell it. We started off by ordering a jar of chicha and it tasted watered down.... basically water with purple coloring. My father ordered Milanesa (breaded steak), my mother Jalea de Pescado (fried fish chunks), my sister Bistek a lo Pobre (steak with fried egg, french fries, rice, and fried banana), and I ordered Arroz Chaufa (Peruvian style fried rice). As we got our orders my mother noticed that the fried fish had a moist, pale yellow look to it, not your usual golden brown crunchy fish. My sister noticed a clear film on her fried eggs, nothing to be concerned about but i thought it was kinda weird. As my dad took the first bite of the Milanesa he noticed a strange smell to the meat. We all took a whiff and concluded that the meat was spoiled. It had a real vinigery smell to it. As for myself, the rice was really moist and sticky, not like your typical Arroz Chaufa thats like fried rice that isnt sticky. As i began to take my first couple of bite the rice tasted vinigery and very salty. I took another bite and felt something not normal. As i took out the piece of egg that felt strange, i realized it was a piece of white cardboard about 1 in x 1/2 in. As a family, weve been to Contigo Peru many time before, but we have never had any problems up until today. THE WORST dinning experience by far.
