Review content:
Sadly, I had high hopes for this gym and I ended up having similar experiences to those reviewers who said they wanted to learn to box and were ignored. I had boxed earlier in life and was looking for a place to get back into training and decided on this gym. Big mistake. I went to this gym for a year, at least three days a week, and I never had anyone work with me on punching technique, combos, counters, etc. And as far as the gym being full of friendly people, no one once, not ONCE, in a YEAR, offered to hold the pads, share any tips, etc. which I would freely have done. Simply put, this is NOT a place to learn how to box. My experience was paying $60 a month faithfully for a year only to do about 20 minutes of rope, about 30 minutes of crunches then you're on your own to work the bags. I even saw a newbie punching the heavy bag with bare fists - no gloves or wraps even - a recipe for a broken hand. So much for teaching boxing. The set-up is great if you're already a pro or have been actually boxing for a while, but not for a beginner or someone looking to get back into boxing. Most people at this gym are not boxers and are just looking to just get into shape. If you want a different and fun workout to get in shape, this is a great place to go. Again, if you want to LEARN HOW TO BOX, you won't get it here. In hindsight, I could've saved the money I spent at Lord's Gym over the last year and bought a heavy bag, speed bag and double-end bag and set it up at home instead. That way I can have the experience of no one teaching me anything new from the comfort of my own home.
