Review content:
I called Pardo's and asked them if they take reservations and was told no. So realizing it's a Saturday night, I got to the restaurant 1/2 hour earlier than the rest of my party (a total of 4 of us) to put our name on the list. I got there at 7p. I was told by the young woman with the list that the wait would be an hour. Well at 8:20p we were still not seated nor did it look like we'd ever be since Pardo's has a ""special reservations"" list for their friends. Several times while we waited, we were told there is just one table ahead of you but somehow more people kept showing up ""ahead of us"" on a ""reserved"" list. I was told by the manager that if you call 1 day ahead, you can make a reservation but it appears that people who were walking in needed only to shmooze the woman with the list in spanish to get onto the list and ahead of us. In fact, I copped onto this when I watched as the woman with the list put new walk-ins down on the special ""riservas"" list. My friends and I finally left in disgust at about 8:30 when I was told all those with reservations will be seated ahead of us. It was a no-win situation. There was no telling how much longer we'd have to wait to get to eat there. The staff and the manager were ridiculously unprofessional in their handling of the entire situation. As more people filed into the restaurant, they were told the wait would be about an hour which was a lie since I'd waited almost 1 1/2 hours with still no table in sight. Maybe their food is good enough to deal with a ridiculous wait, maybe not. All I know is that although I am a very patient person, I am never going back to Pardo's.
Pros: Smelled good.
Cons: It's impossible to get a table unless you know the service staff.
