Review content:
A friend and I decided to have dinner at Teatro before going to The Nutcracker; out of all the restaurants within proximity of the Opera House, it seemed like the best choice for our budget. The service was good. You could tell that the wait staff had been trained. But the food was mediocre and ultimately disappointing. The chicken milanese was just a slab of fried chicken with parmesan cheese on top with a huge side of bitter greens (and not easy to cut up with a dull knife!). Any $20+ entree should leave a better impression than that. We were treated very well by our waiter, up until the point that we received the bill. My friend and I split the check. I paid with a credit card, and she paid with cash. But he never brought us any change! He was presumptuous enough to give himself a $19 tip (over 20%), and he wasn't worth it. At that point we didn't have time to sort it out because we didn't want to be late for the show. So, needless to say, I wouldn't go back again. Pros: Close to theater district Cons: Too expensive for quality
