Review content:
The Olympia oyster appetizer or meal (choose grilled option over fried) is dazzling. The chef does not overcook the oysters into chewy blandness as do many others. The Greek salad is crisp and fresh, with plenty of feta. The dressing is self applied from a bottle on the table and it is flavorful without being overly tart. I was disappointed that the salmon burger came as a previously frozen pre-formed round dry patty, like you can buy at Costco. It can't be too hard to chop a three ounce piece off a fresh salmon filet and sautee it. We go to a luncheon diner in a Houston business park that does it just that way, and it is delicious. Olympia also offers turkey and beef burgers that we haven't tried. The gyro platter I ordered came largely chopped instead of sliced off the rotisseried meat, and was a little dry. Although plentiful, I got the feeling it was remnants. Greek TV game shows are playing on silent TV sets. Jewelry is offered for sale at the counter. Pleasant blue and white decor. Attentive service. A new location opening soon at Pier 21. I hope they freshen up the menu. This could be a really good place to eat.
