I had been to Hubbard Park Lodge several times for brunch before selecting it as the site of our wedding reception. I had always enjoyed the natural environment, straightforward service, and out of the way location. It is beautiful and rustic.
While HPL was initially responsive to our inquiries regarding the event, there were occasions throughout the planning process when weeks -even months would go by before we could get a response or confirmation. We were at times treated rudely and were not able to finalize the majority of contractual issues until two weeks before the event. While the wedding reception was lovely and the service met our expectations, HPL did not return property to us after the event. It was overall a very stressful experience.
While bruch at HPL is a nice idea for large or small groups, its catering services have left me with a bad taste.
Pros: Riverfront location, Lovely room, Cozy atmosphere
Cons: Unresponsive service, Poor event planning, Communication
