Review content:
I've been searching for a BBQ joint to call home in the Twin Cities based upon my addiction to smoky, southern-style BBQ. I'm pretty washed out on the ultra-KC-sauced pork and beef roasts that pass for BBQ in this town.
I've done Dave's, Baker's, Rudolph's, Market, Pickled Parrot... Scott's falls behind Baker's in ribs for me, but comes #1 so far for the BBQ Pork sandwich.
That said, Ja-Mama's sauce is still too cloyingly sweet with not enough vinegar and smoothness, and the amount of pepper in the sauce is distracting. The pork doen't have near enough smokeyness contained in it.
I'll go back, but not until I hit the rest of the teeny joints.
Pros: great service, tasty, quick
Cons: sketchy parking
