Review content:
I don't know what the previous reviewers are talking about because that was not my experience at all. I spent $350 and two weeks dealing with David's Auto on Stemmons for a simple repair that should've only taken an afternoon to complete. The check engine light on my car was on and it had failed an emission inspection due to a problem with the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system. I brought the car in to David's Automotive Repair (the Stemmons Fwy location) where the mechanics confirmed the EGR flow problem. They recommended I have the EGR valve, EGR tube, and gaskets replaced. The manager, Paul, gave me a printed estimate for parts & labor totaling $350, which I agreed to. I waited in the shop that afternoon while they supposedly completed the work. I paid, then left. As I was driving home, the check engine light came on. I called Paul the next morning and brought my car back in. I was told the EGR tube they had replaced was a faulty part, that they would order new one from parts store and replace (no extra charge). Got the car the next day, check engine light was off and again, supposedly the car had been repaired. Again, the check engine light came on as I was driving home. Over the next two weeks, I brought my car back to the shop another two times only to have the same thing happen again. After the last time, the check engine light stayed off for a few days but the car failed a 2nd emission inspection and the report showed the same EGR problem. I called the owner, David, who told me I could bring it back again and THIS TIME they will fix the problem. He said the parts were faulty (4 times?!) but at this point I do not trust them. I now have to take my car to another shop.
