Having worked for Hospice for MANY years, I have been in Nursing Facilitys, Personal Care homes and Assisted livings. The CollinField House is Wonderful. When first hearing of the location I was not too egar but then when I went and saw the neighborhood, it was actually nice. At first I was expecting something more corporate/Business like. This was a home. The outside was very well kept and it was very inviting. When I walked inside I expected the residents to be sitting in the chairs stairing at walls and for it to be more ""medical"" and have that funny smell. I was expecting to see the Staff in a group talking about other residents and laughing and talking, THIS WAS NOT THE CASE. I walked in and was greeted by the staff, I was happy to notice there was no ""odor"" upon walking. It looked as if I walked into a very nice home. When I walked in I took note to see all of the residents and staff interacting with each other. The residents where dressed nice(and had matching and UNSTAINED clothes without food from the previous meal stuck to them, which actually quite rare for any place even the more pricey ones), the where being read to, their hair done as well as their make-up, and most of all looked completely happy. I honestly was blown away the first hour I was there. Being in the medical field you can tell when the staff is being fake for ""show"", but the staff was genuenly devoted to these residents. I was generally impressed that each resident had a plauqe outside thier door with thier picture and a little story of thier background, it was fun to read. The Director was very nice and the staff seemed really happy with their jobs. Unfortunatly with anything in the medical field there is a high turnover rate, people are always getting fired and or finding another job, this place should not get a bad reputation for that. Yes the owners may not have the knowledge of doctors but they seem to know how to treat thier residents and their family from what I have seen. I would recommend this place to anyone(and have) and if my Grandparents where still alive I would have loved for them to have stayed here instead of the nursing home they where in where the care was just awful. I just cannot express how well this place is. I try to give real reviews of every place I have been to, to let the public know just where they are putting their loved one in and I cannot say one bad thing. Truely a nice place, the rest... not so much(unless you can afford to put your family member in a place and pay over 10grand a month in, and still the home enviorment is not there unlike this place.
