I just love going to Cafe Italia. I like the older one on Northwest Hwy in Grapevine the best (A tastefully converted Taco Bell building) The menus of the two locations are the same, but the one on NW Hwy has the best atmosphere and in spite of my description that it is an old converted taco bell, is pretty romantic! This is not contrived kitsch like Buca di Beppo. At Cafe Italia, the kitsch just happened in spite of what the owners intended. And, excuse me, guy from New York City who thinks he knows what good Italian food is, Cafe Italia is not in New York City! This food is more like Buffalo. Hah! Take that! Or maybe it's just some guys from Macedonia trying to do the best Italian they can in Grapevine Texas, which is pretty darn good!
Pros: Kitsch, Delicious, Romantic, Northwest Hwy location the best, BYO Wine
Cons: Side dish of pasta with every entree not that great, could make this great if they tried.
