I was planning a cross-country move from Dallas to New Haven, CT leaving 9/21/09. I planned to rent a truck and drive myself, but I wanted to hire professionals to load up my furniture for me.
I called Around Town Movers and talked with Greg (the owner) the week before my move, we talked over my needs, and scheduled the load-up for that Sunday. Greg stayed in touch with me during the week to make sure everything stayed on-track and he even made recommendations on the size of truck I could rent based on the amount of furniture.
Greg himself and one of his movers were right on time for the Sunday appointment, and they did a great job wrapping the furniture with furniture pads and shrink wrap then loading it into the truck. They even accommodated my request for certain items to be loaded in last so that they could later be dropped off at a stop on my trip.
Planning the big move was stressful and it really helped that Greg stayed in touch and showed up on time, they really hustled while they were on the clock but were also very careful with my things, and I absolutely feel like I got my money's worth. Without a question I would use these guys again if I still lived in Dallas.
