I have been dining at the Jefferson location for a couple of years and have never had any complaints. In fact, I have found the food to have very good flavor (try the beef nachos), the prices reasonable, and the atmosphere to be lively. The bartender(s) and staff have always been kind and welcoming, whether I sit at the bar or meet friends for dinner.
For anybody who has worked in the restaurant business, there are times when the restaurant gets ""slammed"" and you simply don't have any additional help. During these dinner rushes, I have found the staff to work hard, yet remain attentive to the diners' needs. So please don't let one or two negative reviews cause you concern. It's usually the people that have a bad experience that feel the need to write a negative review, giving an unfair, skewed overview. Which is why I write - to provide some balance. I am certain there are hundreds of happy customers that cast their vote by simply returning to dine. It's evident in the ""regulars"" and families I see. It's one of the better downtown Mexican joints. Busy is good! It means Ole Ole is worth trying!
