Businiess name:  Colbert/Ball Tax Svc

Review content:
I've done my taxes as Colbert Ball for the last two years. I got audited for my 2010 return and received the notice almost a year later in January of 2011. I remember Colbert Ball telling me the reason they charged so much more than other services out there was because they would take responsibility in the case that you got audited. So, naturally I set up an appointment to come in and talk to Anna, who filed for me last year. After waiting for an hour all she said was ""You have to send the receipts they're asking for."" I knew that. I didn't have the receipts for some of the smaller deductions like work clothing and lunches- which by the way don't qualify as deductions because they weren't business lunches nor was the clothing uniforms. Call me ignorant or young and dumb, but i didn't know this and I trusted she knew what qualified and what didn't. When I said I didn't have the receipts she said ""Oh well then you can't provide them..."" DUH!! I also didn't realize it at the time I filed, but she put down that I spent $200 a month on work clothes alone... most people don't, talk about a red flag! Oh and when I told her she also needed to provide a letter with an explanation for every deduction, she said, ""You can either hand write that or type it."" So all she was basically going to do for me was feed it into the fax machine. Anyway, she was entirely unhelpful and lazy and I regret paying them so much money for maybe an extra $100 on my return. This cost me a lot more than I realized. Needless to say, I ended up grabbing my stuff and walking out. I will never come here again!
