Review content:
Restaurants in Houston come and go with amazing speed. But Cavatore's has been around for a long time. I think it's because they continue to serve up consistently good food. We used to live in the area but moved away recently. I was craving the caesar salad so my husband and I drove back to the neighborhood. We were greeted by a new face. I think her name was Sharon. She was gracious and friendly. There was piano music that night which made for nice atmosphere. Not too loud but nice to listen to. What I like about this place is that the food is reasonably priced and portions are pretty large. I started with the table side caesar salad. Love watching them prepare it and you also get to choose which ingredients to put in it-like anchovies and garlic. I then had the Italian sausage with pasta. The flavors blend well together. It was really good. My husband had the steak with brandy sauce. He was equally pleased with his meal. We skipped dessert but ordered coffee. When they brought out our coffee it was accompanied by a complimentary tasting of gelato. Turns out the restaurant was trying out a new concept. We thought the gelato was a nice touch. All in all, great time.
