My wife and I have trusted Tomas Dalin as our mechanic since he worked at the old Sunbeck's Automotive on South Congress, as far back as when I was driving my spiffy '75 Mustang Mach I. Besides that Mustang, Tomas and his shop have allowed us to get hundreds of thousands of miles out of our '75 Cougar, '78 Granada, '81 Accord, and '92 Explorer as the years went by. Our present '99 Civic is at 150K and our Grand Cherokee is at 100K and humming along. Tomas has assembled a great team of mechanics and Oscar in the front office to give you straight talk about what's wrong--and what isn't wrong--and what options you have to fix the highest priority problems to match your budget. We trust Ben White Auto's diagnoses and cost estimates completely; they do excellent work the first time, every time; they accomodate your schedule; and they are a happy shop, giving their mechanics their weekends off so they're happy, productive, helpful, friendly, thorough, trustworthy. There is no tradeoff necessary among price, service, reliability, and honesty--Ben White delivers all of these. When you visit, whether for routine maintenance or for an emergency, say hi to Oscar and give a wave to Tomas.
Pros: Honest, thorough, skilled, diligent, friendly.
Cons: The traffic on Ben White, but it's worth the extra light change to take your car there.
