Review content:
I took a $5,000 wedding gown to Mesa Alterations for alterations. When I dropped the dress off they had me look at it carefully to see if there was any damage, so that I would know they had not "caused it." We took pictures of the dress during the actual fitting. There was no damage to the dress. When I picked the dress up I immediately noticed a run in the material. I went straight home and compared the pictures we had to taken to verify the run was not their previously and it was not. I found multiple tears in the material with threads sticking out all around the areas where the alterations were performed. I called and let them know the dress fabric had been damaged. They told me because I left the shop with it, I would have to pay for any repairs. (They did not inspect the dress or ask me to inspect the dress when I picked it up. I also did not sign any agreement that said they weren't responsible.) This was after paying $340 for the alterations. I immediately took the dress to another seamstress. The dress has a crystal sash around the hips. She explained that the tears were caused because they did not cover the crystals when they inverted the dress and that is why there were multiple snags in the material. She showed me several other dresses she was working on, and how she had covered any crystal or bead work to prevent this type of thing from happening. They were very careless with my dress, damaged it, and then refused to repair it. I wouldn't go there!
Cons: Carelessly damaged my dress and then told me they would charge for the repairs
