my girlfriend and i brought our baby boy (7 year old lab) for a check-up the usual bloodwork indicated he needed to be put on an expensive vet diet and thyroid meds. we did this for several months my dog hating the food and pills forced on her everyday. i asked dr.hall if this was permanent, if my dog was going to be with this illness and the meds the rest of his life, she said if you want him to live he'll have to take the meds and special diet food from us.
