I went to Mitchell Dental Spa for a routine dental check up but I actually got much more. When I walked into the office, the receptionist knew who I was (which was kind of cool) and presented me with a small amount of paperwork to fill out pre-appointment. While I was filling out the paperwork, the General Manager of the office, Jeff, introduced himself and offered me a variety of refreshments (champagne too!). It was refreshing to have someone be so attentive when they first meet you. After I filled out the paperwork I was escorted to my individual dentist space. The office was not only clean, the decor was inviting, modern and completely different from any other dental office I've been to. This is probably due to the fact that it is a dental spa, not an ordinary dentists office. Regardless, the dental assistant was extremely nice and careful and Dr. Mitchell was even more pleasant! Mitchell even had this great mouth camera that showed me where my trouble spots were and where I would eventually need a couple of fillings. After the consultation, I was given a nice goodie bag with the usual floss, toothbrush and toothpaste but they also gave me a t-shirt which was nice! I was also offered a complimentary spa treatment, which is offered to each patient during their visit. I was given an array of choices including a massage, facial and lip rejuvenation. I chose the lip rejuvenation because they were pretty chapped and it was great. A woman named Dee Dee rejuvenated my lips and gave me a quick arm and hand massage. All-in-all, this is probably the best time I've had at the dentist. It was so tranquil and everyone was so friendly that I forgot that I was coming back two weeks later to get two fillings. If you ever want a thorough, relaxing and non-threatening dental experience I definitely suggest going to Mitchell Dental Spa. That's where I'll be going for the remainder of my time in Chicago.
